Anders Aukland, Team Ragde Charge, awarded with the Visma Ski Classics Veteran bib Season XII. After the Season XII finale in Ylläs-Levi, we saw a close competition for the Veteran bib at the SC Ranking between Anders Aukland and Stanislav Řezač.

Both long-distance skiers are Visma Ski Classics Legends and were still fighting for top positions at the Pro Tour.

Anders Aukland, born in 1972, won the Veteran bib competition Season XII and was 23rd overall in the SC Ranking with 21,690,765 points. Stanislav Řezáč, Slavia Pojišťovna Sport Team, born in 1973, followed close 31st overall and second on the Veteran Bib list with 20,425,274 points.

In the third place for the Veteran bib was Florian Göbel, Endless Local Nordic Team, born in 1972, with 11,883,642 points and 99th place on the SC Ranking overall.

In front of Visma Ski Classics Season XII, a new bib was launched for veterans, defined as 44 years and older. The Veteran bib is worn by the male or female athlete with most SC Ranking points.

Veteran Bib Rules

The veteran bib is worn by the male or female athlete with most SC Ranking points of age 44 or above. The athlete’s age is determined by the year when the Ski Classics final of the season takes place. Awards was handed out to the Veteran bib leader at the Ski Classics final event.

The SC Ranking is for all skiers in the Visma Ski Classics races, women and men in the same ranking list. The best 12 event points last 24 months are counted in the total points.

The SC Ranking points are calculated on the percentage of time a skier is behind the winning time in their gender with an exponential drop of points. In a Pro Tour event, the winning athletes receive 2,200,000 points. In a Challengers event, the winners collect 500.000 points. There are about 17.000 skiers in the SC Ranking competing for the Veteran Bib.
