The first event of the U23 World Championships is taking place today, Tuesday, February 6, in Slovenia. It features a sprint race in freestyle technique for U23 skiers. Maria Hartz Melling, from Norway, clocked the fastest time in the sprint qualifier. 

The top 30 skiers qualified for the sprint finals at the U23 World Championships. The U23 women’s sprint final starts at 13:00 CET.
