Tour de France stage 8 saw Wout Van Aert (Jumbo – Visma) winning the 186.3km race to Lausanne (Switzerland) ahead of Michael Matthews (Team BikeExchange – Jayco) and Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates).

Today, Stage 9 starts in Aigle, Switzerland, covers 192.9km, and finishes in Châtel Les Portes du Soleil, France.

Stage 9 – Aigle to Châtel Les Portes du Soleil 192.9km

“Now comes the first “real” mountain stage. with four mountain prizes, two of which are of the first category. The stage takes place mostly in Switzerland with the start in Aigle where the International Cycling Union has its headquarters. Initially you cycle along Lake Geneva,.you return to Aigle after the tough first category mountain of 1.778 meters above sea level and the last 20 kilometers are in France. The last category 1 mountain is climbed with 9 kilometers left and here it can actually happen more than you think. Fast descent and a little more climbing before the finish line in Châtel,” says Vacchi.

The broadcast starts on Eurosport at 12:25. Neutral starts at 12:30. Expected arrival at 17:28.
