“Last mountain stage. Now there will be fireworks. Col d’Aubisque and Hautacam are climbs of the ‘hors category,’ outside the category, which is the toughest category despite the name. Again a short stage, and again a smooth start. Today around 40km of climbing and finishing up on the Hautacam ski resort for the sixth time. Eight years ago, Vincenzo Nibali won one of the four stages he took home before rolling to the finish as the final winner in Paris. Javier Otxoa has also won here, the year was 2000, and he was the last one who survived the long breakaway,” says Vacchi.
The broadcast starts on Eurosport at 13:40. Neutral starts at 13:30. Expected arrival at 17:25.
