The following stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 will be held this weekend in Oslo—Holmenkollen, Norway. The Swedish national team is now presented.

Oslo, Norway, is the venue for the following stage of this season’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The Holmenkollen World Cup starts on Saturday, March 9, with a 50km mass start race for women in classic technique, followed by a 50km mass start race for men in classic technique on Sunday, March 10. 

In a press release, the Swedish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Oslo, Norway. 

“Holmenkollen’s 50km race is among the most traditional and classic we have in cross-country skiing. As usual, lots of people are expected at the arena and an electric atmosphere. Everyone who gets the chance to ski Holmenkollen’s 50km gets an experience out of the ordinary,” says Swedish national team manager Anders Byström, and adds:

“Many of the skiers in the squad have started in almost all World Cup competitions this season. Some, including William Poromaa and Calle Halfvarsson, had minor trouble during the weekend in Lahti, but we expect them to be fully recovered and ready for a 50km race on Sunday. New to the squad for this season is Fredrik Andersson, who made strong efforts in the Scandinavian Cup’s finale in Hommelvik last weekend,” says Anders Byström.

Among the women, several names had solid results recently:

“World Cup runner-up Linn Svahn is in, and we also give new confidence to Sofia Henriksson, who touched her personal record with a 14th place in Lahti last Saturday,” says Anders Byström.
