Shoreline Events this week in North America
Taking place on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8, the third edition of the Shoreline Events 2023 promises a spectacular showcase of talent with a solid lineup of participants. The field boasts a remarkable influx of Canadian athletes from their National and Olympic Teams, alongside a strong contingent of American competitors, including athletes from the US Ski Teams 2022-23 World Cup field and Wisconsin’s very own Olympic Biathlete, Deedra Irwin, who achieved remarkable success at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Organized by Out There Nordic in collaboration with international brands and local partners, Shoreline Events has become a highly anticipated highlight on the North American sporting calendar.
Originating in the summer of 2021 with a skate sprint, the race evolved into a two-day event last year, featuring a classic distance race and a thrilling skate sprint.
The action starts on Friday, July 7, with the Blue Hills area hosting the 15km classic race. Races will begin at 8:30 local time. Elite Men & Women and Jr Men & Women (4.5km) will all have events.
The following day, Saturday, July 8, the excitement continues with the sprint race in freestyle technique, covering a challenging 1.3km course along the captivating shoreline. Qualifying will begin at 14:30 local time, with quarter-final heats at 16:00, semi-finals at 17:00, and finals at 17:30.
Furthermore, Shoreline Events is proud to announce a total prize money pool of $11,000, making it one of the biggest cash prizes for a cross-country skiing race or related events in the United States.
