After the World Cup season ended in March, the work of replacing Jan Wall as national team doctor for the cross-country national team has been ongoing. The process has resulted in Rickard Noberius being employed part-time to work with the medical follow-up for Sweden’s cross-country ski elite.

“We are very pleased to bring in a well-educated, knowledgeable, and experienced doctor who has also been an elite person. Rickard has all the prerequisites to work closely with the national team and the active ones. Now we get a long-term solution that feels sustainable and interesting,” says national team manager Anders Byström in the press release.

Rickard Noberius lives in Falun, has a degree in sports medicine, and is a specialist in anesthesia, intensive care, and general medicine. For the past three years, he has worked as a doctor in the Dalarna Region, at the same time as he started his own clinic Dala Sports Medicine.

“I am looking forward to working with the cross-country national team. I am already reviewing how we will develop the medical team and the preventive work. We have important work ahead of us, and I am ready to take on the exciting challenge,” says Noberius.

Rickard Noberius will start his employment on June 1 and will participate in the national team’s kickoff in Falun the first week of June.
