In February, Hanna Falk announced she was ending her professional sports career. Now, the former traditional and long-distance skier joins the Swedish club Ulricehamns IF Skidor as a Sports Director.

Ulricehamns IF Skidor has grown over the past ten years, inspired by Hanna Falk’s success on the international skiing scene and from organizing World Cup competitions. The youth activities have multiplied and have also given rise to success in youth and junior championships. With that as a basis, the club is now investing significantly to continue its development.

“We have a fantastic youth activity that has nurtured many promising skiers. For the association, the agreement is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of Hanna’s experience from the elite career and inspire our promising junior and senior skiers in their efforts,” says Owe Isacsson in a press release.

The ski club has long discussed investing in a sports director, and Falk’s announcement that her elite career was ending meant that the pieces fell into place with the right candidate for the job.

“It feels fantastic to have the chance to continue being part of UIF Skidor. The club has given me so much over the years, and the fact that I can now contribute with my experiences to further develop the business inspires me a lot,” says Hanna Falk.

The hiring of Hanna Falk is an investment Ulricehamns IF Skidor is making to develop the association’s work and lay the foundation for continued development as an elite club. Initially, it is a part-time position, but the ambition is for the assignment to grow according to the association’s development. The investment is financed outside Ulricehamn IF Skidor’s regular operating budget through the club’s capital built up in the work with World Cup Ulricehamn.

“My ambition is to continue working with cross-country skiing, sports, and health when I have now finished my active career. I will combine the assignment as sports director in UIF Skidor with a few more assignments. Then we’ll see how it develops over time,” says Hanna Falk in the press release.
