Matintalo Returned Home From National Team Training Camp
Johanna Matintalo, Finland’s cross-country skier, had to return home a week earlier from the national team’s training camp in Italy, which is currently underway.
Johanna Matintalo (FIN) had to return home from the national team camp due to an injury.
Matintalo explained the situation on her Instagram account.
“On the weekend, I fell while rollerskiing at a camp in Italy. I had mainly superficial scratches/asphalt rash, but I got a deep wound on my right hand that required stitching at the local hospital,” writes Matintalo and continues:
“There would have been about a week left of the camp, but I decided to go home. Monitoring wound healing is easier, and the risk of possible complications is lower in Finland. It’s sad, but I’m happy it wasn’t worse.”
The Finnish national team will return from Passo Lavaze, located at an altitude of 1.800 meters, to Finland on August 23.
