The Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships start tomorrow in Latvia. One hundred thirty roller skiers from 10 countries are confirmed for the weekend competitions. Check here the complete program.

Scheduled to take place from August 18 to 20, the Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships in Madona will feature three days of top-level competition in Latvia and a complete competition program for elite and junior athletes from around the World.

According to Local Organizing Committee (LOC), 130 athletes from 10 countries have signed up for the roller ski competitions at the “Smecere sils” track and the streets of Madona city. 

“On Friday, the classic individual start will take place, while on the weekend, there will be competitions on the streets of Madona – a 200-meter super sprint on Saturday and a mass start on Sunday,” says the LOC and adds:

“On the first day of the event, the Smecere sils track will host the classic race with individual start from 9:00 (EET), where juniors will compete on a 7.5km and 10km course, and elite athletes on a 10km and 15km course. On Saturday, the local spectators’ favorite event will take place – a 200-meter sprint on one of the central streets of Madona – Raina Street. Qualifying will start at 16:00 (EET), quarterfinals at 17:30 (EET), and the final battles at 18:00 (EET). On Sunday, from 10:00 (EET), the race will conclude with a mass start in the city streets, where the junior women and senior women will be the first to take to the track for the 15km race, the junior men at 11:15 (EET), and the elite men at 12:15 (EET) (20km), to finish the day.”
