The board and owners want to take the Norwegian private team in a different direction. Therefore, there will be a change in one of the leading roles.

After leading the Norwegian Team Aker Dæhlie for two years since the start in 2022, general manager Knut Nystad is now outside the team.

According to Nystad, the board and owners want to take the Norwegian team in a different direction. They will use a larger share of the team’s financial resources on the sporting initiative.

Nystad is open about his disappointment with the decision.

“Of course, I would like to remain in Team Aker Dæhlie, but I support the wishes of the owners and the board to prioritize the sporting initiative in the future. We agree that we will part ways after this season”, Nystad writes on LinkedIn.

“I am proud of what we have accomplished with Team Aker Dæhlie over the past two seasons. The team has a good starting point to continue to be a positive driving force in the development of cross-country skiing, which includes long-distance, traditional, and para cross-country skiing with athletes from several nations in one team,” he writes.

Nystad is now looking for a new job.

“In the future, I will prioritize looking for new tasks. It will certainly be an exciting and scary process, but most of all, I look forward to exploring new opportunities,” Nystad writes.

Nystad’s departure also means administrative changes for the team. Active Brands AS, as one of the team’s owners, Jarle Wermskog will become administrative manager, and Joachim Aurland will have increased responsibility as sports manager.
