Grahn and Wallenius winners of the mass start at the Junior Roller Ski World Championships 2023

The Junior Roller Ski World Championships had its third and final day this Sunday with a mass start race in freestyle technique in Madona, Latvia. Anton Grahn (SWE) and Nora Wallenius (SWE) won their respective races.

Junior Men’s Race – 20km Mass Start

In the junior men’s mass start race, we saw Anton Grahn (SWE) taking home first place with a total time of 46:28.2.

Marco Gaudenzio (ITA) snagged second place, 0.8 seconds behind the winner, and Viktor Norberg (SWE) completed the podium in third place, 2.0 seconds back.

Junior Women’s Race – 15km Mass Start

Nora Wallenius (SWE) took first place today at the FIS Junior Roller Ski World Championships in the junior women’s mass start race in freestyle technique.

Anna Maria Ghiddi (ITA) snagged second place, 5.5 seconds behind, and Sofiia Shkatula (UKR) completed the podium in third place, 7.5 seconds behind the winner.

  1. Nora Wallenius (SWE), 37:14.6
  2. Anna Maria Ghiddi (ITA), +5.5
  3. Sofiia Shkatula (UKR), +7.5

Program for the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships

  • August 18 – individual race in classic technique (15km men; 10 km women and junior men; 7.5km junior women)
  • August 19 – 200m sprint in freestyle technique (women/men and junior women/junior men)
  • August 20 – mass start in freestyle technique (20 km men/junior men and 15 km women/junior women)
