Tomorrow, February 16, the team sprint in classic technique for women and men marks the eighth day of cross-country skiing events at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Below you can check out your favorite cross-country skier from the start list.

A total of 54 women from 27 countries and 50 men from 25 nations are confirmed to start tomorrow.

The 27 women’s teams and 25 men’s teams are comprised of two athletes each, doing six laps on the sprint course. The top four teams in each semifinal and the fastest two remaining teams (lucky losers) qualify to the final.

Sweden is considered the top favorite in the women’s team sprint, with Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Sundling. Team USA with Rosie Brennan and Jessie Diggins is the biggest Scandinavian rivals. From Norway, we have Tiril Udnes Weng and Maiken Caspersen Falla. 

We can also mention Yulia Stupak and Natalia Nepryaeva from the Russian Olympic Committee, Finland’s Kerttu Niskanen and Krista Parmakoski, Slovenia’s Eva Urevc and Anamarija Lampic, Nadine Fähndrich and Laurien Van der Graaf from Switzerland, and as an outsider team, the home-grown skier Chunxue Chi and Li Xin.

In the men’s race, one of the top favorite teams for the Olympic gold is Norway, with Erik Valnes and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. We can also mention France’s team, with Hugo Lapalus and Richard Jouve. 

Alexander Bolshunov and Alexander Terentev form a strong Russian Olympic Committee team. Keep an eye on Sweden’s William Poromaa and Oskar Svensson, Francesco De Fabiani and Federico Pelegrino from Italy, and Iivo Niskanen e Joni Maki from Finland.
