Beijing 2022: Men’s Skiathlon Start List And Favorites

by Leandro Lutz • 05.02.2022
Tomorrow, the 30km skiathlon kicks off the men’s 2022 Beijing cross-country skiing races. Below you can check out your favorite cross-country skier from the start list.

A total of 70 men from 34 different nations are confirmed to start tomorrow.

One of the top favorites for the Olympic gold is Johannes Høsflot Klæbo from Norway, currently the overall leader of the cross-country skiing World Cup. If he can match Teresa Johaug’s supreme performance in today’s 15km skiathlon race, it will be two golds in two races for Norway.

But the favorite is not just Klæbo. We can also mention his teammates Sjur Røthe and Hans Christer Holund; Alexander Bolshunov and Alexey Chervotkin from the Russian Olympic Committee; Iivo Niskanen from Finland; and Calle Halfvarsson and William Poromaa from Sweden.

Interesting to keep an eye on Hugo Lapalus from France; Friedrich Moch from Germany; Francesco de Fabiani from Italy; Andrew Musgrave from Great Britain; and the American Gus Schumacher.
