At just 18 years and 345 days old, Alvar Myhlback made history on March 2, 2025, becoming the youngest-ever winner of Vasaloppet. The Lager 157 Ski Team athlete, who crossed the finish line in Mora alongside teammate and 2023 champion Emil Persson, now looks back on his journey — one that began a decade ago in the youth version of the legendary race.

The second day of the Blink Festival in Norway featured the highly anticipated Blink Classics on Thursday evening, where Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, secured a commanding victory in the 50-kilometer classic roller ski race.
Alvar Myhlback trained 600 hours at age 12, won Vasaloppet at 18, and thanks Norway for helping him become so good.
Lager 157 Ski Team is now expanding its youth initiative and talent development. Hopefully, they will find several talents who can follow in the footsteps of Alvar Myhlback.

“I’ve received a boost just by training with the team,” says Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, ahead of his season debut in Ski Classics, which will take place at the Italian 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon this weekend.
On Saturday, Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, starts his first competition in Ski Classics Season XV.
Alvar Myhlback will again be part of the Lager 157 Ski team next season. But the competition program for the upcoming winter is not set in stone.
