The Roller Ski Junior World Championships got underway in Madona, Latvia, on Thursday with a 10km classic technique race. See who topped the podium on the women’s and men’s sides below.

The Roller Ski Junior World Championships kicked off this Thursday in Madona, Latvia, with 10km individual start races in classic technique for junior women and junior men. Check out the results below. 

Madona Roller Ski Junior World Championships: 10km junior women’s race

Sofiia Shkatula (UKR) took first place in the junior women’s 10km classic technique race with a total time of 27:57.1.

Matilda Grahn (SWE) snagged second place, 2.1 seconds behind the winner, and Gerda Kivil (EST) completed the podium in third place, 22.2 seconds back.

Madona Roller Ski Junior World Championships: 10km junior men’s race 

Tine Sporn (SLO) took home first place in the junior men’s 10km classic technique race, crossing the line in a total time of 23:57.0. 

Stefan Kivil (EST) snagged second place, 1.4 seconds back, and Ville Jutterdal (SWE) completed the podium in third place, 10.4 seconds behind the winner.
