Team Edux Confirmed For Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon

Team Edux, one of the Pro Teams from Finland, has confirmed its presence at this year’s edition of Lake Saimaa Roller Marathon, a Ski Classics Challengers event.

Earlier this week, Team Edux announced participation in the Ski Classics Challengers event Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon, a 60km rollerski race to be held on September 3 and 4 in Imatra, Finland. 

Team Edux post:

“Finland is hosting a Ski Classics Challengers event this year in the beautiful scenery of Saimaa, South Karelia. Team Edux will be in the competition! 

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a roller skiing competition in classic technique. The race will be held in the Rauha-Ukonniemi area, close to Imatra Spa and Holiday Club Saimaa, in Imatra and Lappeenranta area. 

The race course goes through the Ukonniemi roller ski track in Imatra, and the center of the event is the Ukonniemi arena. The race will be skiing on 10km laps six times, in a total race distance of 60 km. 

Ukonniemi has one of Finland’s best roller ski tracks (3,3km) and the most modern biathlon range. There are 4,500 beds in high-quality hotels, cottages, and townhouses near the stadium. 

The skiing competition will be on 3-4.9.2022. The event features elite, recreational, and junior categories. You can sign up for the competition on the Saimaa Roller Ski website until 30.8.2022, 15:59 (local time).” 

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a classic rollerski competition between the Ukonniemi Stadium, Imatra Spa, and Holiday Club Saimaa. The route follows the coast of Saimaa Lake, and in some places, the course opens to a beautiful landscape of Saimaa, Finland.

The racecourse is 10km long, and there will be six laps starting and finishing in the Ukonniemi Stadium. When racing, participants can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the largest lake in Finland. 

The women’s competition will be held on Saturday, September 3, and the men’s competition on Sunday, September 4. 

Imatra offers one of the best rollerski conditions in Finland, with a modern shooting area. Ski Club Imatran Urheilijat has long experience organizing cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions.

As Lake Saimma Roller Ski Marathon (women and men) is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender. 

Everyone participating in Ski Classics, Pro Tour or Challengers events, professional and recreational skiers, can connect their profile to the results database of Ski Classics, called MyPages.

MyPages can be connected when subscribing to Ski Classics online community In the profile, you can view your Ski Classics event results, collect pins, print diplomas, and analyze your results with friends in the SC ranking system. In your profile, you collect points according to your performances and are rewarded with pins and diplomas.
