In a post on social media, Team Næringsbanken announced that Simen Engebretsen Nordli is their team’s new coach.

At the beginning of May, Team Næringsbanken informed that after being part of the Pro Team since the 2015/2016 season, Simen would retire from the professional rankings.

Last season after Vasaloppet, Simen Engebretsen Nordli went to a complete medical check-up after not feeling well. One week after the doctor’s visit, he was admitted to the hospital with what turned out to be a heart attack. 

Now, the Norwegian Pro Team is pleased to present the former Pro Tour skier as their new coach. Engebretsen Nordli has already debuted in his new position at the team’s training camp this week in Hamar, Norway.

“We have the pleasure of presenting Simen Engebretsen Nordli as the new coach at @teamnaeringsbanken. @simenenordli debuted as a demanding coach at the gathering that @teamnaeringsbanken has in Hamar this week.

Simen has been through a training period after the problems this winter. And as a trainer will follow the skiers on a bike and some rollerski sessions. Welcome!”

Simen Engebretsen Nordli started at 45 Ski Classics Pro Tour and 5 Ski Classics Challengers events. In Season XII, he finished 38th overall in the Yellow Champion competition.
