Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII reaches its final weekend on Saturday, April 3, 2027, with Reistadløpet, a 35km classic event between Setermoen and Bardufoss, Norway.

Together with the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja the following day, Reistadløpet forms the northern double that closes out the season, showcasing the raw Arctic beauty, steep mountain terrain, and coastal landscapes that define Norway’s far north.

The 35km course between Setermoen and Bardufoss climbs steeply from the valley floor into exposed highlands, rewarding athletes with sweeping views before challenging them with long, technical descents toward the finish. As one of the toughest races on the circuit, Reistadløpet has historically played a defining role in both the men’s and women’s standings and continues to be a proving ground for athletes with exceptional climbing strength.

The event also features the Iconic Climb Orta and the Premium Sprint Storlømyra. As a Premium Sprint, Storlømyra carries a little extra at stake: it awards the usual Sprint points in the battle for the Sprint bib, and those same points are also added on top of the regular team competition points. This is a welcome bonus, especially for Pro Teams locked in close battles at the end of the season.

“Reistadløpet is a 35km race that goes through the wild Arctic landscape! It is more than a ski race, where nature experience, history, and pure Arctic madness meet! If you are an elite athlete chasing victory or a citizen skier who wants to test your boundaries in beautiful Arctic nature, this race is for you! Welcome to Reistadløpet, where the mountains, history, and the cross-country skiing joy meet!” says John Olav Fuglem, Chief of Competition.

“Reistadløpet is where our season really starts to close in. One of the last chances to shift the standings before Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja the very next day. What makes it different is the descent: many of our courses are decided on the way up, but here you climb hard into the highlands and then have to descend just as fast, on technical terrain, all the way to Bardufoss. As Storlømyra is a Premium Sprint, the points don’t just settle the Sprint bib. They get added to the team competition points too, which matters a lot for Pro Teams still fighting it out this close to the end of the season,” says Lukas Bauer, Ski Classics Race Director.
