Registrations are now open for Tana-Varangerrennet 2027
Tana-Varangerrennet, a Ski Classics Challengers event in Norway, has officially opened registrations for its 2027 edition.
Tana-Varangerrennet is an 80km long-distance skiing event that takes place from Seida in Tana to Vadsø, Norway, with decades of skiing history and, for the 7th edition, as a competitive event with timing.
Formally established in February 1997, the event has grown into one of the most iconic races in the region and is once again part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit, with the 2027 edition scheduled for April 10.
The Local Organizing Committee highlights the unique nature of the event:
“An 80km classic race in beautiful surroundings along the Varanger Fjord. It might be the northernmost ‘long’ ski race on the mainland and one of the longest races in Norway. As one of the few ski races in the World, you can see the shore (the Varanger Fjord) while skiing on the tracks.”
Registrations opened on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
