On February 20–21, 2026, the first-ever Loppet festival in South Korea will welcome skiers of all levels to a celebration of cross-country skiing in the scenic surroundings of PyeongChang. A “Loppet” is a traditional ski marathon festival originating from Scandinavia, combining sport, community, and the joy of skiing on snow.

The PyeongChang Loppet aims to create an inclusive winter festival where everyone can participate — from young children taking their first strides on snow to elite athletes competing at a high level. With a variety of distances and categories, the event offers something for both competitive and recreational skiers.

As part of the festival program, the 10km mass-start freestyle race on February 21, 2026, is registered as a Ski Classics Challengers event, allowing athletes to compete for Ski Classics points.

The event takes place at the Alpensia Cross-Country Center, a venue well known from international competitions and beautifully located in the winter landscape of Gangwon-do. With its world-class facilities and inspiring Olympic legacy, PyeongChang provides a unique setting for South Korea’s first Loppet festival.
