Ski Classics Season XV returns after the Christmas and New Year’s break with event 5, Pustertaler Ski Marathon, in Italy.

On Saturday, January 13, Pustertaler Ski Marathon ignites 2024 and takes center stage as the fifth event of Season XV.

Following the resounding success of the previous season and earning a prestigious top 3 spot at the coveted ‘Event of the Season’ award, the 62km long-distance race once again secures its place within the Ski Classics Pro Tour.

Self-titled the longest and hardest ski race amidst the stunning Drei Zinnen Dolomites (Three Peaks in the Dolomites), the Pustertaler Ski Marathon promises a very challenging course combined with breathtaking scenery.

“After the Christmas break, we return to Italy to enjoy the fantastic nature and atmosphere. Athletes will face a fast 62-kilometer course with a spectacular finish in the city center,” says Ski Classics Sport Director Anton Karlsson.

Captivating spectators and athletes alike, the Dolomites proudly hold the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for their stunning beauty and ranking amongst the world’s most enchanting mountain landscapes.

The allure of these majestic peaks lies in their distinct vertical formations, ranging from striking pinnacles and towers to spires, all harmoniously neighboring a backdrop of horizontal surfaces, including ledges, crags, and plateaus. The Dolomites create a captivating spectacle by rising abruptly above expansive talus deposits and gentle foothills.

For the fifth event of Season XV, expect many thrilling battles on the tracks and some splendid drama as the Pro Team athletes fight for glory in mid-January.
