Pro Team athletes dominate the Challengers Vaajmarathon 2023

The Ski Classics Challengers event Vaajmarathon, a 43km long-distance rollers ki race in classic technique, took place today with a strong starting field. Check out the winners.

Many Ski Classics Pro Team athletes matched their skills in a tough race from Mebygda, Norway, crossing the border to Rötviken, Sweden. After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers Vaajmarathon event saw Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, and Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, win the race with solid performances.

Vaajmarathon Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, with a total time of 1:43:06.3. Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in second place, 0.6 seconds behind, followed by Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, 1.9 seconds back and completing the podium in the third position. 

Men’s Top 3

  1. Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, 1:43:06.3
  2. Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, +0.6
  3. Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, +1.9

Men’s Podium

Vaajmarathon Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, with a total time of 1:58:21.0, won ahead of Sofie Elebro, Team Eksjöhus, in second place and 5.4 seconds back. Wilma Jönsson, Team Ramudden, 7:05.7 behind, finished in third place.

As Vaajmarathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
