The Ski Classics Challengers event, Åsarna Ski Marathon, took place this Saturday with a 48km long-distance classic technique race in Åsarna, Sweden. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, one of the Ski Classics Challengers events in Sweden, Åsarna Ski Marathon, saw a fierce battle for all the podium places. Ultimately, Eddie Pettersson, Åsarna IK, and Jennifer Antell, DPONLY Ski Team, won their respective races with solid performances.

Åsarna Ski Marathon – 48km Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Eddie Pettersson, Åsarna IK, completed the race in a time of 2:14:36.2.

Oskar Algotsson, Åsarna IK, finished in second place, 0.6 seconds behind, followed by Fredrik Andersson, Piteå Elit SK, completing the podium in third position and 0.4 seconds back.

  1. Eddie Pettersson, Åsarna IK, 2:14:36.2
  2. Oskar Algotsson, Åsarna IK, +0.6
  3. Fredrik Andersson, Piteå Elit SK, +2.1

Åsarna Ski Marathon – 48km Women’s Race 

In the women’s competition, the winner was Jennifer Antell, DPONLY Ski Team, completing the event in a total time of 2:30:46.5.

Ingrid Hallquist, Åsarna IK, finished in second place, 2:35.6 back, followed by Alva Svahn, Östersunds SK, 2:37.6 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  2. Ingrid Hallquist, Åsarna IK, +2:35.6
  3. Alva Svahn, Östersunds SK, +2:37.6

As the Åsarna Ski Marathon 48km is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team-registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
