Balancing studies and ski racing

Competing in the Ski Classics Pro Tour for multiple seasons, the NTNUI Ski Team has proven that high-level long-distance skiing can go hand in hand with academics. The team consists of student-athletes who juggle university studies while training and racing against some of the world’s best long-distance skiers.

“We’re determined to show that students can compete at this level,” the team states in a press release. “We’re looking for new members who share our passion.”

Open to various profiles

The team is looking for skiers with competition experience in both all-around and long-distance formats. However, beyond results, NTNUI values motivation, team spirit, and the ability to balance training with studies.

While the project does not currently have a main sponsor, meaning athletes must cover their own travel and accommodation costs, the team emphasizes flexibility. Skiers can choose to participate in the full Pro Tour or focus on selected events, depending on their academic schedule and ambitions.

“A season with the NTNUI Ski Team is what you make of it! You can choose to race the full Ski Classics calendar or focus on selected events. You can go all-in or combine your racing ambitions with student life,” the team explains. “The most important thing for us is that the training gets done.”

Applications are open until August 20 at 23:59 (CET), but early applications are encouraged. Full application details can be found through the team’s official channels.
