Torleif Syrstad was unbeatable. The Norwegian Pro Team athlete in the Lager 157 Ski Team won Vasaloppet with almost a four-minute margin after skiing solo for about 25 kilometers.

Behind Syrstad was a fierce sprint battle for the remaining podium places, with the 17-year-old Myhlaback ensuring that the Pro Team got two on the podium in this year’s legendary race.

In the last race weekend before Vasaloppet, the Swedish turbo junior took his first podium in Ski Classics.

When Myhlback debuted at Vasaloppet last year, he was three seconds away from the podium. He reached the podium this year and was just three seconds away from second place. Then the tears fell.

“It doesn’t get bigger than this. To take a double on the podium with your best friend,” says Myhlback to Langrenn.com.
