Lina and Gustaf Korsgren – Team Ramudden Pro Team Directors

by Claire Moyse • 28.10.2022
ProXCskiing met Lina and Gustaf Korsgren during a training camp in Båstad, southern Sweden. We have talked about Team Ramudden’s preparations and work as Pro Team Directors of the best Ski Classics Pro Team for the last two seasons.

How is the preparation going so far for Ski Classics Season XIV?

“We have had a really good summer and start of autumn for the Team. We have had great success in the rollerski races. That itself doesn’t guarantee success in the winter, of course, but it’s better to be in a positive motion than a tougher one,” says Gustaf.

“We now will have high altitude training in coming camps. We will go first to Tenerife and then to Livigno,” continues Lina.

How is the division of the tasks within the Team? And between the two of you now that you are both working as Pro Team Directors?

“We always have run the team together, but now, since I am not competing anymore, I am taking many more tasks and initiatives for coaching the athletes and working with sponsors,” says Lina.

“From my side, I am more dealing with logistics and materials,” reveals Gustaf.

What is your favorite training session to prepare for?

“There are always good hard training sessions you first think of. But it’s still the complement with the long soft sessions with a coffee break that’s make the soul for your shape.”

What do you prefer in your job?

“Giving top-level support for the athletes and that you know you are doing it better than others,” says Lina.

Lina, is there something that you miss from your athlete’s life?

“I would say to be in good shape and prepared to win Vasaloppet.”

Team Ramudden has won the Pro Team Competition for the last two years. What is the secret?

“The secret is to keep your shoulders down, learn to enjoy life as a skier, trust in what we’re doing, and believe in your progress,” says both Lina and Gustaf.

What are you doing when not working? Do you have any favorite series or films to recommend?

“We love to be at our lake cabin in Kaxås, one hour from Åre. We always have different projects with building things, growing plants, or just enjoying nature. Of course, there can also be one or two training sessions there,” says Gustaf.

“Often, we have separate followings for streaming, but we could see House of Cards for hours, also Snabba Cash. We always find good Danish thriller series like Kastanjemannen,” concludes Lina.
