The Ski Classics Challengers event, Kobberløpet, took place this Saturday with a 42km long-distance race in classic technique in Sulitjelma, Norway. Check out the results.

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Kobberløpet, took place this Saturday with a 42km long-distance race in classic technique in Sulitjelma, Norway. Check out the results.

After a fast race from the start and a morning full of action, the 42-kilometer-long Ski Classics Challengers event in Norway saw Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, and Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, winning Kobberløpet with outstanding.

KOBBERLØPET – WATCH HERE ON SC PLAY

KOBBERLØPET – MEN

Men and women started together at 10:00 CET and the pace was fast from the gun with Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, Thomas Ødegaarden, Team Eksjöhus, Magnus Waaler, Team Rustad IL Oslo, and Petter Northug, Team Burger King Northug, taking the lead.

Tjorvi 15km – Split

  1. Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, 45:01.0
  2. Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, +0.1
  3. Magnus Waaler, Team Rustad IL Oslo, +0.8

Right after Tjorvi, Stadaas and Moen increased the pace, and a breakaway was formed, leaving the chasers behind and forcing Novak to try to close the gap. A few kilometers later, with 20km to go, the gap was already 1:50 over the chasers.

Gamvatn 25km – Split

  1. Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, 1:10:28.9
  2. Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, +0.3
  3. Thomas Ødegaarden, Team Eksjöhus, +3:28.1

With about 19km to go, the break was still working well, and the gap was already more than 3:30 over the chasers.

Jakobsbakken 31km – Split

  1. Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, 1:24:57.4
  2. Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, +0.6
  3. Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, +5:21.1

Gamvatn 36km – Split

  1. Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, 1:40:56.0
  2. Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, +0.4
  3. Thomas Ødegaarden, Team Eksjöhus, +5:26.4

At the end of today’s Kobberløpet, after a long duo breakaway, the winner was Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, with a total time of 1:56:12.0.

Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, finished in second place, 3.1 seconds behind the winner in a tight sprint finish.

Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished 5:14.4 back and completed the podium in the third position.

KOBBERLØPET – WOMEN

Soon after a fast start, a duo breakaway by Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, and Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, was formed, marking the Pro Team skier as one of the main favorites for the win already at the beginning of the race.

Tjorvi 15km – Split

  1. Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, 48:42.4
  2. Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, +0.6
  3. Marie Risvoll Amundsen, +28.8

Over the kilometers, the leading duo was working well and increasing the gap over the chasers.

Gamvatn 25km – Split

  1. Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, 1:20:47.0
  2. Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, +0.7
  3. Marie Risvoll Amundsen, +2:22.5

Jakobsbakken 31km – Split

  1. Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, 1:38:38.6
  2. Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, +0.9
  3. Marie Risvoll Amundsen, +3:28.2

Gamvatn 36km – Split

  1. Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, 1:56:35.0
  2. Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, +0.1
  3. Marie Risvoll Amundsen, +5:45.7

With less than 5km to go, the leading duo had a comfortable lead and could prepare for the final part of the race.

In the end, Tereza Hujerová, Team Robinson Trentino, showed a solid performance, winning the race in a long-range duo breakaway. The winner completed Kobberløpet with a total time of 2:14:37.4.

Laurie Flochon Joly, Team Nordic Expérience, finished in second place, 2.2 seconds behind the winner after a tight sprint to the finish.

Marie Risvoll Amundsen, 7:11.2 back, completed the podium in the third position.
