The Ski Classics Challengers event, Västgötaloppet Skate, took place this Saturday with a 42km long-distance freestyle skiing race in Ulricehamn, Sweden. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, one of the Ski Classics Challengers events in Sweden, Västgötaloppet Skate, saw a fierce battle for all the podium places. Ultimately, Leo Johansson, Falun Borlänge SK, and Klara Svensson, Äspereds IF, won their respective races with solid performances.

Västgötaloppet Skate – 42km Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Leo Johansson, Falun Borlänge SK, completed the race in a time of 1:38:10.0.

Markus Jönsson, Tranemo IF Skidklubb, finished in second place, 3:13.0 behind, followed by Daniel Nordebo, Älvsby IF SK, who completed the podium in third, 5:17.0 back.

Västgötaloppet Skate – Top 3 Men

  1. Leo Johansson, Falun Borlänge SK, 1:38:10.0
  2. Markus Jönsson, Tranemo IF Skidklubb, +3:13.0
  3. Daniel Nordebo, Älvsby IF SK, +5:17.0

Västgötaloppet Skate – 42km Women’s Race 

In the women’s competition, the winner was Klara Svensson, Äspereds IF, completing the event in a total time of 2:07:25.0.

Anna Kopp, Mölndal Outdoor IF, finished in second place, 8:57.0 back, followed by Emma Lindén, FK Friskus-Varberg, 12:53:0 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  1. Klara Svensson, Äspereds IF, 2:07:25.0
  2. Anna Kopp, Mölndal Outdoor IF, +8:57.0
  3. Emma Lindén, FK Friskus-Varberg, +12:53:0

As Västgötaloppet Skate 42km is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team-registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
