On social media, Danish Skimarathon Team unveiled the new female additions to their Pro Team roster for the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV.

Danish Skimarathon Team, the first ever Pro Team from Denmark, which secured a top 34 place overall in the Pro Team ranking during Season XIV, recently announced the signing of Emilie Heinig Hansen and Ebba Johansson, the first Danish and the first Skåne region (Sweden) female cross-country skiers, respectively, aiming to participate in Ski Classics.

Taking to Instagram, Danish Skimarathon Team shared the news about Emilie Heinig Hansen:

“BREAKING NEWS @emilieheinig First Danish female XC Skier aiming to participate in @skiclassicsofficial

Emilie used to do alpine skiing and ski mountaineering. When she moved to Denmark in 2020, she started classic roller skiing. The following winter, the Danish ski community introduced her to cross-country skiing and biathlon.

Emilie has won the Danish Championships in classic xc skiing by double poling her way to the podium. Also, she competes in biathlon by attending the IBU Cups, which she started after one year on cross-country skis.

Aside from that, Emilie has always been inspired by long-distance sports, which brought her to Ski Classics.

Despite Emilie’s three years on cross-country skis, she keeps surprising the Danish ski community with her exponential learning curve.

We welcome Emilie on a perfect balanced female x 3 // male x 3 team now for our next project aiming to participate in #skiclassics season 23/24”

And in another post on Instagram, the Pro Team shared the news about Ebba Johansson:

“We warmly welcome Ebba Johansson from @skiteamskane, whom we met at Vasaloppet 2023 around Mora. We know she also comes from a region where roller skis are necessary to get functional ski training, as in Denmark; hence we have a lot in common.

Also, we want to support Ebba in trying long-distance skiing without any pressure, along with her goals in other parts of xc skiing as biathlon and the Scandinavian Cup.

We will offer a team with no stressful expectations; the fun part should be the most important and hopefully help in continued motivation for a young athlete like Ebba.”
