The Pro Team athlete is one of the few French women who have been competing on the Ski Classics World Championship circuit for several years now. Since her debut on the circuit at the 2024 Engadin La Diagonela, Hanna Fine has continued to improve.

A member of Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino for the past two seasons, she earned her first top 10 finish at the Gronklitt ITT during Season XVI of the Ski Classics World Championship. Last season, the French skier returned to the top 10 at the Bad Gastein Criterium.

After competing at the Hautdoubsloppet, a Ski Classics Challengers event, the French athlete was able to start her summer just as she had hoped.

Currently training at Passo Rolle in Italy, Hanna Fine looks back on her summer of preparation and shares her goals for the upcoming season.

“I’m currently on a training camp in Passo Rolle, Italy, with the whole team, and I also did a training camp there in July. It’s a really great place to train: I highly recommend it,” she tells ProXCskiing.com.

Competing at the Trollhättan Action Week, which hosted the first round of the Roller Ski World Cup, Hanna Fine raced at the Alliansloppet, a Ski Classics Challengers event, and the 15-kilometer classic individual event, finishing 13th and 14th, respectively.

“I took part in the Alliansloppet race in August: it was great to see the French women from the French national team again,” she says.

Ready to begin the final phase of her preparation before the winter, she talks about her current fitness level and the rest of her schedule:

“Last year I was having a bit of trouble with tendonitis in my wrist from roller skiing, so I took it easy this year, and so far, it’s holding up, which is cool, even though I still have to be a little careful. As for the fall, I’m not really sure yet, haha. I’ll probably head out onto the snow with my team before the season starts in Italy,” she says.

After finishing 17th in the overall standings of the Ski Classics World Championship last season, the French Pro Team athlete shares her goals with us:

“I’d really like to be able to perform to the best of my ability. It would be great to make it into the top 15 in the overall standings! As for the long term, I’m not really sure; last season was tough, so for now I’m not looking too far ahead.”

In the long term, Hanna Fine isn’t making any plans:

“I’ll be finishing my studies soon, so I’m not sure what’s next: I’m going to enjoy this season first. The Ski Classics circuit is so cool; I’m really sad that there’s no longer a French team on the circuit, but I hope it comes back and that young French skiers will get a chance to try long-distance racing. Because it’s really different, and some of them might really enjoy it.”
