After 12 Years And More Than 100 Ski Classics Events, He Just Signed A New Pro Team Contract

In February, he became the first skier to finish 100 Ski Classics events. This week, he extended his Pro Team contract with Team Eksjöhus for yet another season

Morten Eide Pedersen raced his first Ski Classics event in 2011, when he finished 14 in König Ludwiglauf in Germany. 

Since then, Eide Pedersen has raced more Ski Classics events than any other skier. When he crossed the finish line at the Jizerska50 in the Czech Republic in February, the 35-year-old Norwegian became the first skier to finish 100 Ski Classics events. 

Additionally, Eide Pedersen finished all the remaining Ski Classics Pro Tour events as well as Janteloppet on April 8, and wrapped up his season with a total of 106th Ski Classic races on his resume. 

So far, Eide Pedersen has won three Ski Classics events, all at the same venue: He won the Jizerska50 in 2015, 2017 and 2018. He has also been on the podium ten other times, including twice at the Marcialonga in Italy. His best result this season was fourth place, also at the Marcialonga. 

This week, the accomplished Norwegian signed a new contract with the Swedish Pro Tour Team Eksjöhus for the upcoming season. 

“I am excited about being a part of Team Eksjöhus next season as well. Even though this season just finished, I am hungry for revenge and eager to start preparing for the upcoming season. It’s really fun to be a part of building this team,” Eide Pedersen says in a press release.
