After a tactically perfect race, let’s find out what Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, has to say about her victory in today’s Pustertaler Ski Marathon and twenty-second Ski Classics career win.

After a tactically perfect race, let’s find out what Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, has to say about her victory in today’s Pustertaler Ski Marathon and twenty-second Ski Classics career win.

The women’s race started fast from the gun on a cold morning, and an early front group was formed. Johansson Norgren showed her superior strength at the Nordic Arena Sprint and prepared for the finish line in Niederdorf.

“It was kind of hard from the beginning. I usually have some problems with the cold; the body feels like ‘chewing-gum,’ but then I felt quite strong for the sprint, and I was quite ok for the climb. I think I had a really good day, so I tried to save some energy and try to eat and drink a lot and prepare to the finish.”

Britta Johansson Norgren had a tactically perfect race, and the main goal was to save energy for the finish line.

“It was just saving energy, take the sprint points and then be in the front group at Cimabanche with the others. Then when I was in the climb with them, I knew I had to prepare for the finish and try to be confident and think that I was the strongest.”

This weekend, Visma Ski Classics have back-to-back races, and tomorrow Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge is taking place. The winner of today’s race tells us how to prepare for the big challenge tomorrow.

“Restore energy and rest. It will be a tough challenge tomorrow. It will be a beautiful race, but I will be exhausted at the end,” Johansson Norgren concluded.
