Visma Ski Classics Season XI included eight events, and now the vote on which event was the most popular has been conducted. The award is decided after a vote by the Visma Ski Classics Pro Team athletes and staff. The Season XI title is won by Årefjällsloppet in Sweden, the 100 km long final event of Season XI.

Each event comes with its own specialties and characteristics. A new and long challenging course was requested by many athletes. This was achieved with Årefjällsloppet and was reflected in the voting.

The 100 km race became a fascinating race with a thrilling ending in both the men’s and the women’s race where the athletes really got to show their endurance and willingness to fight against each other for more than five hours.

Årefjällsloppet was part of Visma Ski Classics Seasons III-VII and became last season a Challengers event. The event was now back in the Pro Tour with this new 100 km course in the Swedish mountains, the longest distance so far in Visma Ski Classics’ history! That challenge was obviously something that both athletes and staff liked.

One comment after the race was:
“A very demanding finish of the season, but an awesome way to finish it with such a race.”

The second event in the voting this time was Marcialonga. The Italian race has been voted as number one in both Season VIII and IX. In Season X Jizerska 50 won the ballot, this time, they were in third place.
