The successful Finnish long-distance skier Amanda Nyfors is joining the Austrian Cibes Lift Ski-Willy Marathon Team for the remaining four Ski Classics Pro Tour events.

The 25-year-old Finn competed for Team Mäenpää last year, but since the team dissolved, she has not taken part in any Ski Classics Pro Tour events. At this year’s Finlandia Hiihto at the beginning of February, she achieved an impressive 3rd place and is now looking forward to the upcoming challenges.

Pro Team Director Peter Kiene is enthusiastic about the new signing:

“We started Ski Classics Season XVII with a solid and strong squad. Unfortunately, three of our four female athletes had to drop out due to long-term health problems, which set us back somewhat, especially in the team ranking,” says Kiene to ProXCskiing.com and adds:

“With Amanda, we have gained a very experienced, friendly, and easygoing athlete. For the remaining four Ski Classics races in Norway, I am once again very optimistic. We will be represented with a competitive team both at Birken, in Bodø, and at the final races, which means our goal of finishing in the top 15 in the team ranking is once again within reach.”
