Tartu Maraton makes its comeback to the Pro Tour in Season XII. The race takes place this Sunday and is one of the oldest ski marathons in the World, with a history of 60 years.

The 63km long-distance classic race starts in the Estonian winter capital Otepää, in the well-known Tehvandi Ski Stadium. The undulating course goes south until after the Climb checkpoint of the day and then turns north to reach the Sprint competition at the 46km mark and finish in the small and cozy town of Elva.

Tartu Maraton is considered one of the best long-distance skiing races in the World, with varied wild nature and suitability for Pro Tour athletes and recreational skiers as well.

Tartu Maraton is also known as the Estonian Song Festival of Winter because of its grand proportions and international fame. It brings together thousands of skiing enthusiasts every year from all the continents.

On Sunday, expect many battles on the finish line, the last part of the course is flat and provides an excellent opportunity for the strongest sprinters on the Pro Tour.
