IBU Cup: Botet wins sprint in Idre Fjäll

The IBU Cup season 2024/2025 started today in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, with a 7.5km sprint race for women. After a fast day on the tracks and shooting range, French biathlete Paula Botet won the event with a solid performance.

The IBU Cup season 2024/2025 started today in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, with a 7.5km sprint race for women. After a fast day on the tracks and shooting range, French biathlete Paula Botet won the event with a solid performance.

Paula Botet, from France, took first place in the 7.5km women’s biathlon race in Idre Fjäll with a total time of 20:07.3 and clean shooting.

Chloe Chevalier, also from France, snagged second place, 12.9 seconds back, and no shooting penalties. Anna Weidel, from Germany, completed the podium in third place, 42.4 seconds behind the winner and one penalty at standing shooting.

On Saturday, November 30, another 10/7.5km sprint race awaits. And on Sunday, December 1, the IBU Cup opener weekend ends with a 12.5/10km pursuit for men and women.

After Idre Fjäll, the biathlon IBU Cup heads to Norway (Geilo), then Austria (Obertilliach), Germany (Arber), Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia), Italy (Open European Championships in Martell-Val Martello and IBU Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna). Then, the 2024/2025 IBU Cup season ends with two stages in Estonia (Otepää).
