Johannes Dale-Skjevdal describes his Olympic gold in Italy as one of his greatest moments. He now reveals new plans.

During the biathlon mass start at the Olympics, Norwegian star Johannes Dale-Skjevdal hit all 20 targets for the first time, securing gold on the final day of the Games. Upon returning to Norway, he received a welcome he never dreamed of.

“The entire street in Blaker was filled with people at night when I came home after the Olympics. It was absolutely wild, but incredibly nice. You can really feel that people care,” he tells Romerikes Blad.

“This is the next big thing happening”

Dale-Skjevdal now reveals that the local community will see more of him in the future.

This summer, the Olympic star is uprooting his life in Lillehammer and moving back with his wife and son Jon to where it all began.

“This is the next big thing happening. It will be nice to come back. I have missed it,” he says.

Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and his wife Kristina got married in Røros in the summer of 2023. Last fall, they welcomed their son Jon. He feels that now is the right time to move.

“It fits very well. The timing is perfect; I will truly become a Romeriking again,” says Dale-Skjevdal.

Everything started in Fet Ski Club”

Returning to Romerike will be an important milestone for the 29-year-old.

“It has meant a lot from the very beginning. Everything started in the Fet Ski Club and in the local community. People have followed me through both good times and bad, and it feels wonderful to feel that support,” he says.

So far, Dale-Skjevdal feels he has managed to balance family life with elite sports. He credits his family for this success.

“It would never have worked without the support at home. I am completely dependent on it, and I have a fantastic wife. I am very proud that we make it work,” he says.

After his spectacular gold in the Olympic mass start, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal also secured two more championship golds before the season ended: the King’s Cup and Norwegian Championships gold in sprint and mass start in Os in April – in his wife Kristin’s neighborhood.
