Biathlon: Schedule for the French national team’s training camps
A few days ago, the French biathlon teams released their training schedule in preparation for the upcoming season.
French biathletes will hold six different training camps, including two at high altitude. Although they will mainly stay in France, they will also travel abroad, such as to Austria or Norway during the autumn. The men’s and women’s teams will hold only one full training camp together in September.
According to the French media NordicMag, they will participate in six training camps and at least two weekend roller-skiing competitions.

Women’s team
In June, the women’s team will gather in the Jura Mountains in Prémanon for their first training camp. Next, they will travel to Ceillac in July, then to Bessans in August, before joining the men’s team in the Vercors in September.
In October, the women’s team will go to the Ramsau Glacier in Austria to see the snow again. Then, they will have the choice between the French national roller ski championship or the Loop One Festival in Munich on October 17 and 18. And to finish up preseason training, the last training camp will take place in a famous French place for altitude training: the snow farming in Bessans.

In September, they will travel to Font-Romeu (altitude), near the French-Spanish border: a well-known destination for altitude training camps, as the Swedish national biathlon team, among others, visited there last September.
Next, they will have a choice between two weekends of roller ski competition, just like the women’s team. Just as in recent years, they will then head to Norway to take part in the Norwegian try-outs in Geilo in November.
