Lovera to train in Lillehammer this summer
Victor Lovera, relay silver medalist at the Milano-Cortina Olympics, wants to try something new this year.
This summer, the French cross-country skier has chosen to do his summer training in the Norwegian city of Lillehammer.
“It’s great to mix up my training and try new things. I hope this will help me take my training and performance to the next level. I want to keep improving over the next four years.”

According to French outlet NordicMag, he wants to break his training routine whilst remaining close to the French national team.
“After the Olympics, I wanted to try something new, experience a different environment, and Norway is definitely a paradise for skiers. I chose Lillehammer because a lot of people there go roller skiing, it’s crazy! Every morning, you pass thirty to forty people training.”
Victor makes it clear that this decision was not made to distance himself from France.
“I have absolutely no desire to move to Norway permanently, I see it as a major training camp,” he said.
He also emphasized his attachment to the national team:
“The decision was made with the coaching staff, because obviously I want to stay in the French national team. We have an amazing team, an incredible coaching staff, and we’re all working toward the same goal.”
With his friend James Clugnet already there, the decision was all the easier. So, until September, Victor will be traveling between Norway and training camps with the French national team.
