They made Lægreid miss

He rarely misses. In biathlon, he is the best. But here is the group that made Sturla Holm Lægreid miss. In fact, more than anyone else.

“I got too eager at the start and lost control,” admits the biathlon star after a surprising miss.

In a completely new arena, it was Lægreid who faltered.
This week, he has been training with the orienteering national team in Oslo.

“For the most part, I was just following along. But I was supposed to lead on one stretch, and that’s when it went wrong,” says Lægreid.

However, for the orienteering team, it was a big deal to have the star training with them. Lægreid typically receives much more PR and attention than Kasper Fosser, Pia Young Vik, and the other orienteers.

The collaboration also had a deeper significance. Sturla Holm Lægreid shared his experience on how to maintain focus after exhausting oneself on the track. Biathlon and orienteering share many similarities in terms of the need to stay concentrated even when the body is fatigued.

This time, Sturla Holm Lægreid ended up with at least one penalty lap, but normally, he manages without. Hopefully, this collaboration will ensure that neither the biathletes nor the orienteers miss next time.
