Klæbo dominated this winter, and now he is one of two Norwegian skiers on a list reserved for only the very greatest.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has been named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list of the World’s most influential people under 30 in the Sports & Games category for Europe.

The American financial magazine publishes the list once a year, and it is considered one of the most prestigious in the World. Those featured on the “30 Under 30” lists are described as the next generation of gamechangers in their field.

As is well known, Klæbo claimed six gold medals from six possible events at the Winter Olympics in Italy this winter, as the first cross-country skier in history to do so.

In demand

That the Norwegian skiing star features on the exclusive Forbes list this year is due to both his sporting achievements and the fact that the 29-year-old has given a series of interviews to major American media following his Olympic exploits.

When Klæbo chose to travel to the World Cup finale in Lake Placid in March, it was partly to meet several of the biggest media outlets in the US. Both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have since published major in-depth interviews with the Norwegian skiing star.

The other Norwegian skiing star on the list is Nordic combined athlete Jens Lurås Oftebro. The 25-year-old from Jardar IL also swept the board at the Milano-Cortina Olympics.

Star-studded company

Other names on the same Forbes list include Dutch speed skating sensation Jutta Leerdam, Swiss alpine skier Franjo von Allmen, Arsenal and England international footballer Eberechi Eze, tennis ace Jack Draper, and Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí.
