The Ski Classics World Championship Season XVII consisted of 13 events, and now a poll has been conducted to determine which race was most popular. The award is decided after voting by the Pro Teams and their athletes.

The title Event of the Season goes to Marcialonga, which received 16.2% of the votes.

Each event has its specialties and characteristics. Traditional, challenging, and new-format races are appreciated by athletes and Pro Teams, as reflected in the poll following the Ski Classics World Championship Season XVII.

Marcialonga, the traditional Italian long-distance race, is a 70km mass-start race starting in Moena and ending in Cavalese. As the first of the four Grand Classics, the event is one of the major monuments and most prestigious events to win. 

The race was exciting in both the women’s and men’s classes. Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, and Kasper Stadaas, Team Aker Dæhlie, showed enormous strength on the challenging course and mastered the snowy terrain to triumph in the 53rd edition of Marcialonga.

The Italian race has been voted number one after Seasons VIII, IX, XV, and now at Season XVII.

Second place in the poll was Vasaloppet with 14.7%, followed by Jizerská50 with 13.2%, Bedřichov Sprint with 8.8%, and, tied in fifth place, Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, Engadin La Diagonela, Birkebeinerrennet, and the Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT, each with 7.4% of the votes.

Marcialonga is far more than a race. Rooted in the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys, the event embodies the hospitality, culture, and tradition of its territory, from the warmth of local communities to the logistical dedication that has made it one of the most celebrated long-distance skiing events for more than 50 years.

The recognition from athletes and the Ski Classics Pro Teams reflects not only the quality of the sporting spectacle but also the year-round commitment of everyone involved in bringing the event to life. For the Marcialonga organization, this title is both a tribute to the past and a motivation to keep building for the future.
