The cross-country skiing World Cup finals will take place in the renowned ski resort of Lake Placid, USA. Kerttu Niskanen will not compete on the trails of the former Olympic city.

Finnish skier Kerttu Niskanen has announced her withdrawal from the World Cup finals, as confirmed by the Finnish Ski Association on Friday. The final competitions of the World Cup will be held in Lake Placid, USA.

On Friday, local time, the schedule includes men’s and women’s 10-kilometer individual time trials in classic style, followed by freestyle sprints on Saturday and 20-kilometer mass start races in freestyle on Sunday.

Niskanen currently sits in 37th place in the World Cup standings and has not reached the podium in any of the competitions this season. She did, however, secure a bronze medal in the relay at the Milano-Cortina Olympics.
