The Swedish Ski Association has confirmed the selection criteria for the upcoming roller ski season 2025/2026 with a clear focus on performances at the Roller Ski World Cup, Swedish Championships Week, and the Svenska Spel Summer Tour.

The Swedish Ski Association has confirmed the selection criteria for the upcoming roller ski season 2025/2026 with a clear focus on performances at the Roller Ski World Cup, Swedish Championships Week, and the Svenska Spel Summer Tour.

Sweden’s national team coach, Johan Ericson, underlined that the priority is to support athletes who aim for the world elite at both senior and junior levels. While the seniors face a championship-free season with only the World Cup, the juniors will compete at the Roller Ski World Championships in Madona, Latvia.

“It’s going to be incredibly fun with a World Cup weekend on home soil in August,” says Johan Ericson in a press release, and adds:

“I’m also, of course, looking forward to the Junior World Championships in mid-July, where we have many golds to defend. A partly new team will represent Sweden in Madona, so it will be really exciting.”

Participation in the Swedish Championships Week in roller skiing is mandatory for national team selection for the World Cup. The team for the Junior World Championships will be named the week after the Swedish Championships in Norrköping and presented on skidor.com on July 3.
