Mallorca is an excellent destination for a training camp in late autumn

Mallorca, Spain’s largest island in the Mediterranean, is a great destination for skiers who are not looking for the first snow in Scandinavia in mid-October to November when the frosts are about to set in.

It is still nice and warm in Mallorca at this time of year, and there is still plenty of daylight until well after 19:00. No wonder Team Ragde Charge, Team Aker Dæhlie, and many other Ski Classics Pro Teams see these southern training camps as a priority before the ski season starts.

Mallorca is also a cyclists’ paradise, and the island’s mountains also offer some great hiking trails. There’s also an excellent setting for running along the seafront, and hotels are affordable at this time of year.

Teemu Virtanen, editor-in-chief of Maastohiihto.com, went to test Mallorca’s roller ski roads and followed Team Ragde Charge’s training for four days. As a member of ProXCskiing.com, this upcoming week, you can get a closer look at what the island has to offer from a skier’s point of view and get a closer look at the training of one of the top Ski Classics pro Teams as Season XV is just around the corner.
