Team Edux has been active in their summer training regimen. Their Finnish journey began in June with a camp in Jyväskylä. In July, the Pro Team shifted focus to Åland, and just a few weeks ago, they trained in Vuokatti. As the summer season draws to a close, Team Edux is wrapping up their summer preparations with an intensive camp at Syöte, already in full swing.

The summer for Team Edux has not been about resting on their laurels. Amidst intense training and camps, the Pro Team athletes are focusing intently on the demanding fall training sessions and the upcoming winter competitions. They’ve also seen success in roller skiing races, with Isac Holmström winning both the Getaloppet in Åland and the Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon in Imatra.

Last weekend, Team Edux participated in the “Horse Hill Race,” securing a double victory.

“The race included participants from Team Mäenpää and Sauerland as well. It’s nice to see from the race results that our camps are paying off! Right after the race, we headed straight to our fourth summer camp at Syöte. During the camp, we’ll take advantage of Finland’s best roller skiing climbs,” said Team Edux’s Pro Team Director and skier Tyrväinen to Maastohiihto.com.

Program for Team Edux’s Fourth Camp

  • Saturday: Horse Hill race in the morning. Running in the afternoon.
  • Sunday: Classic roller skiing for 3 hours in the morning. Running for 2 hours + core workout in the afternoon.
  • Monday: Double-poling roller skiing for 5 hours in the morning. Running for 30 minutes in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday: Threshold training with double-poling: 6 x Iso-Syöte climb in the morning. Running + strength training in the afternoon.
  • Wednesday: Classic roller skiing for 3 hours in the morning. Running for 2 hours in the afternoon.
  • Thursday: Double-poling for 5 hours.
  • Friday: Double-poling “Käky-pass” (a Vasaloppet-style workout).
  • Saturday: Double-poling for 4 hours.

“Long climbs are an important part of preparing for the Ski Classics competitions, as they are featured in nearly every race. The Iso-Syöte climb is one of the best in Finland. After six climbs, the altitude gain reads 1300 meters,” Olli summarizes the importance of climbs in the team’s training.
