Due to expected strong winds and snowfall, Årefjällsloppet 100km on Saturday, March 26, the 12th event Season XII, will be carried out on a new course. Instead of a long lap, the race will be held on a course with three laps.

Due to the weather forecast with expected strong winds and snowfall in the Vålådalen area, Årefjällsloppet LOC and the Visma Ski Classics organization decided to go for Plan B for the race on Saturday.

With three laps, the race will be 104km long with a total ascent of 2588m. There will be two sprints and two climbs: Sprint 1 at 15km and Sprint 2 at 51km. Climb 1 at 35km and Climb 2 at 71km.

There is no change to the start times: Elite Women start at 7:30 CET and Elite Men 8:15 CET.

“Despite the changes, we get a great event. In fact, the race gets a little tougher, a few kilometers long, and some more altitude meters to climb for the athletes. It will be a very exciting and decisive competition,” says David Nilsson, CEO Visma Ski Classics.
