This spring, Anikken Alnæs Hagen hung up her skis. Now she is making her debut as an expert commentator.

On Saturday, the Energamo Lipnoloppet will take place in the Czech Republic. The event covers 55km and will be broadcast on SC Play, included in the membership at ProXCskiing.com. Anikken Alnæs Hagen has dominated Ski Classics in recent seasons but put her skis aside this spring.

Now she is making her debut as an expert commentator on SC Play. Alnæs Hagen has received plenty of tips from home, as her husband Carl Fredrik Hagen works as an expert commentator.

“It’s going to be exciting; we’ll have to give it a try. I’ve listened to a few hours of my husband at home. I know quite a lot of the skiers, so it will be fun to see it from a different angle,” Anikken Alnæs Hagen told Langd.se.

Norwegian skiers are favorites

The best-known skiers are from Norway, and it is among the Norwegian skiers that Alnæs Hagen believes the biggest favorites are found. However, Anikken has not competed in the Energamo Lipnoloppet herself.

“Thomas Bing will not be competing on the men’s side, so Magnus Vesterheim is the clear favorite. On the women’s side, it will likely be Magni and Schutzova who will fight for the win. I think there will be more competition on the women’s side, which is a bit unusual.”

Have you received any tips from Carl Fredrik?

“He has given me tips, but I’ve heard him when he’s been sitting at home commentating. You pick up a few tips and tricks. I’d say I’m a notch better than him in English, so maybe I can impress with a few good phrases.”
