Jens Burman is one of the most experienced skiers on the Swedish men’s national team. At 30, he has 135 World Cup starts, participated in four World Championships and two Olympics, and even has an individual World Cup podium finish.

In addition to his skiing career, Burman has spent recent years building a successful YouTube channel, offering viewers a glimpse into his daily life.

Currently, the channel has 38.700 subscribers, and many of his videos have over 100.000 views. During the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Burman created a vlog from inside the Olympic Village that became a hit in China, amassing over 4 million views on the country’s YouTube equivalent.

The latest video was posted nine months ago, and it’s been quiet ever since. When you Google Jens Burman, the second-most searched question is: “What happened to Burman’s vlog?”

So, what happened to Jens Burman’s YouTube channel?

“Involuntary Break”

During the Swedish national team’s press conference in Stockholm, he explained to ProXCskiing.com’s sister site Langd.se why there hasn’t been a new vlog since the Tour de Ski at the beginning of the year:

“Yes, it’s become a bit of an involuntary break, mainly because I started studying and have had to prioritize,” he said.

He continued, “Time just isn’t enough, which is why it’s come to a halt. And I think I’ve gotten a bit comfortable because during the summer, I probably could have posted something, but it’s unfortunately slipped through the cracks.”

What did you start studying?

“To become an electrical engineer. I find it very interesting and enjoyable.”

What’s your dream job after your career?

“I think what I’m studying now is very interesting and enjoyable. So hopefully, I can work in that field after my career.”
